HYDERABAD: BRS working president K Taraka Rama Rao criticised the attacks on party leaders and warned Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy that power is never permanent for anyone.

Addressing the media after visiting the residence of BRS MLA Padi Kaushik Reddy in Kondapur on Saturday, KTR said the attacks on Kaushik Reddy were due to his questions about promises made by the opposition. He condemned the violence, stating that it was a tactic to divert attention from the real issues.

KTR mentioned that Revanth Reddy was introducing "malicious practices" in politics, which he warned would ultimately harm Revanth himself. Despite the diversion attempts, KTR stated that the BRS would continue questioning the Congress government regarding unfulfilled promises.

Referring to the High Court's judgement on defections, KTR called it a move that protects democracy. He highlighted Revanth Reddy's previous remarks as PCC president, where he called for severe action against defected MLAs. KTR questioned the hypocrisy of Revanth Reddy, who is now welcoming defectors into the Congress fold. Specifically, KTR cited the case of Serilingampally MLA Arekapudi Gandhi, who defected to Congress and was awarded the position of PAC chairman. He questioned Gandhi's current political affiliation and stated that when Kaushik Reddy raised this issue, Gandhi’s followers attacked his residence with a police escort.

KTR further demanded action against police officers who allegedly facilitated the attack on Kaushik Reddy’s house. He criticised the state’s inability to control law and order, blaming the Chief Minister, who is also the Home Minister, for his inaction. He questioned his responsibility, especially if any harm had come to Kaushik Reddy’s family. According to KTR, the absence of a full-time Home Minister was deteriorating security in Hyderabad.

He reiterated that BRS would not be intimidated by these attacks and would continue to stand by the people. He criticised Revanth Reddy’s leadership, accusing him of playing diversionary games, and stated that the public would eventually provide the right answer. He also claimed that Revanth Reddy was envious of BRS’s success in Hyderabad, as Congress had not won a single seat in the city.

KTR reaffirmed that BRS would keep fighting until the promises made to the public were fulfilled
