HYDERABAD: BRS Working President K Taraka Rama Rao stated that democracy thrives on accountability, not violence, and criticised Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy for undermining democratic values in Telangana.

KTR questioned Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s silence, accusing him of ignoring Revanth Reddy’s actions while frequently speaking on democracy and people’s rights.

Taking to the social media platform X, KTR said, “Democracy flourishes through accountability, not through violence. Rahul Gandhi often lectures on democracy, but he closes his eyes when Revanth Reddy tramples on it in Telangana. Democracy is about the voice of the people, not suppression.”

He further questioned, “Is your democracy about silencing dissent, demolishing homes with bulldozers, attacking journalists, buying MLAs, and assaulting opposition leaders? This is not democracy; it is tyranny and anarchy.”
