KTR criticises Telangana government over potential liquor price hike in poetic post
KTR took to X, expressing concern over rumours of liquor price hikes in Telangana, criticising the government's priorities.
HYDERABAD: Speculation about a significant hike in liquor prices across Telangana has sparked widespread discussion, with reports of the impending increase appearing in various newspapers today. Amid this backdrop, BRS Working President K Taraka Rama Rao expressed his criticism of the state government’s focus on liquor pricing through a poetic post on X (formerly Twitter).
KTR’s post, written in a satirical tone, highlighted his concerns about the government’s attention towards liquor rather than addressing critical issues like minimum support prices, clean drinking water, and pensions. He shared a piece of poetry, pointing out that the government's priorities seemed skewed, saying, "Focus is on liquor, but not on support prices or good education... focus is on liquor, but not on pensions or water supply..." His poetic verses criticised the proposed price hike, warning about the negative implications of prioritising liquor over welfare measures.
Along with his post, KTR attached a news clipping with the headline "Liquor Price Hike" and included the hashtag #CongressLootsTelangana, indirectly targeting the opposition party.
The rumours of a liquor price increase have caused a stir, with many awaiting an official statement from the Telangana government.
