KTR exposes Rahul Gandhi’s hypocrisy in Delhi, to meet President, Speaker on defections

NEW DELHI: “Rahul Gandhi can't run with the hare and hunt with the hounds,” said BRS working president KT Rama Rao here on Tuesday explaining the double standards of the Congress leader who is encouraging defections in Telangana and crying wolf elsewhere in the country.

Addressing a press conference along with BRS Rajya Sabha floor leader Santosh Reddy and former Minister Harish Rao, KTR said that his party leaders would meet the President and also the Lok Sabha Speaker to complain against the Congress. “We will gather like-minded political parties to expose the double talk of the Congress,” he said.

He said that Rahul Gandhi who proclaimed that he was the savior and vanguard of the Constitution must know that it was the Congress that encouraged the” Aaya Ram, Gaya Ram’ culture in Indian politics in the first place. “In 1967 Gaya Ram an independent who was elected in Haryana defected to the Congress. The irony is that the same Congress brought Anti-defection law,” he said.

Exploiting the constitution as per their wish the Congress said that the BJP played immoral politics, KTR explained that in Goa the Congress made their elected MLAs take oath that they won't defect. “But in Karnataka, their CM says that they are ready to pay Rs 50 crore to any MLA ready to defect to Congress. In Maharashtra the BJP-Shiv Sena alliance is buying Congress MLAs, In Haryana Kiran Choudhury from Congress defected to the BJP, in Manipur Congress moved Supreme Court against defections,” KTR pointed out.

KTR said that the Congress during its 50-plus years of rule in erstwhile AP encouraged umpteen defections and in now made 420 false promises to usurp power in Telangana. “They gave six guarantees, but snatched our six MLAs, six MLCs, and Rajya Sabha Member,” we will expose this to the entire nation,” KTR said.
