KTR sends legal notice to Minister Konda Surekha over defamatory comments
KTR, in his legal notice, pointed out that Konda Surekha had made baseless claims, including insinuating that he was involved in the separation of actors Naga Chaitanya and Samantha.
HYDERABAD: BRS Working President K Taraka Rama Rao has sent a legal notice to Telangana Minister Konda Surekha for allegedly making defamatory comments.
KTR strongly condemned Surekha's statements, including phone-tapping accusations and personal allegations against him.
In his legal notice, KTR pointed out that Konda Surekha made some baseless claims, including that he was involved in the separation of actors Naga Chaitanya and Samantha. He said these statements were given with only one intention: to damage his reputation. He calls it politically motivated and an attempt to malign his public image.
He claimed that phone tapping allegations were false and irrelevant to him. He further criticised Konda Surekha for misusing the ministerial position. He said her baseless comments, which received extensive circulation in the media and social networking sites, might mislead the common people.
He reminded that he had already issued notices to Konda Surekha in April for similar baseless statements and averred that the Election Commission of India had earlier warned Surekha about such objectionable statements. Still, she did not stop. She continued with her allegedly malicious remarks.
KTR demanded that Konda Surekha retract her comments immediately and issue a public apology for spreading falsehoods. He warned that if she did not comply within 24 hours, he would proceed with a defamation lawsuit and a criminal case against her.
