HYDERABAD: BRS working president KT Rama Rao (KTR) has slammed Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan's decision to consider Telangana Jana Samithi (TJS) president Prof M Kodandaram for nomination as MLC under the Governor's quota.

Unfurling the national flag at Telangana Bhavan on Friday, KTR accused the Governor of being biased in handling key decisions. He pointed out how the Governor previously rejected nominees like Dasoju Sravan and Satyanarayana for MLC posts blaming their political connections but overlooked Prof Kodandaram's affiliations despite him leading the TJS.

Citing media reports, KTR questioned the Governor's swift response to Kodandaram's nomination but not to Sravan's and Satyanarayana's. He demanded an explanation for this inconsistency, emphasising that the Raj Bhavan operated with public funds and the Governor was ultimately answerable to the people of Telangana and not the Chief Minister.

Speculating on the rejections, KTR wondered if it was linked to the growing alliance between the Congress and BJP in the State. He further criticized the aspect of appointment of special in-charges instead of sarpanches and questioned the timing of separate MLC elections, suggesting it was allowed after Revanth Reddy met Union Home Minister Amit Shah.

KTR accused the BJP of actively supporting the Congress in Telangana, citing BJP leader Bandi Sanjay's recent call for unity between the two parties. He claimed this was proof of a secret understanding between them.

Harish Rao alleges secret alliance between Congress, BJP

Meanwhile, Siddipet MLA Harish Rao has raised suspicion of a secret alliance between the Congress and the BJP in the State and claimed that the recent decision of the Governor over the appointment of two MLCs was evidence of this alleged alliance.

Harish Rao said that the Governor's decision favoured the Congress Government and found fault with the Governor for refusal to appoint candidates recommended by the previous BRS government.

Harish Rao also questioned why the Governor had accepted the Congress Government's proposal now, when in the past, candidates recommended by the BRS Government were not accepted for political reasons.

He raised concerns that both the Congress and BJP parties were working together to defeat the BRS and opined that it was unfortunate that the Governor was taking part in the alleged conspiracy.
