HYDERABAD: BRS working president KT Rama Rao (KTR) has issued a warning to the Congress stating that they wouldn't be let off the hook if they failed to deliver on their election promises.

KTR also accused Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and other Congress leaders of making impractical promises during their campaign, disregarding their feasibility.

During an informal media interaction at the Assembly on Wednesday, KTR said that there was record of every promise made by the Congress, including those by the Chief Minister. He said that it would be revealed them at an opportune time.

"Rahul Gandhi promised crop loan waiver within 24 hours of taking office. Revanth Reddy pledged a hike in social security pensions to Rs 4,000 upon assuming power. He further declared six guarantees would be approved in the first Cabinet meeting. Additionally, he assured Rs 15,000 per acre per annum to farmers under Rythu Bharosa within 10 days of the elections. What happened to these promises now?" KTR pointedly questioned.

He then expressed the BRS's understanding of the challenges in implementing a crop loan waiver and awaited the Congress government's approach to fulfilling this promise.

"Political parties can make lofty claims in opposition, but those in power can't," he asserted.

The BRS working president scoffed at the State Government's plan to release a white paper on Telangana's financial state. He reminded everyone that the entire State budget, including borrowings, was audited and presented in the Assembly, essentially serving as a white paper on budget expenditure.

"Before making promises, political parties should assess their feasibility. If the Congress didn't review the audit reports, why should we be concerned?" he challenged.
