HYDERABAD: Madiga Reservation Porata Samithi (MRPS) President Manda Krishna Madiga questioned the Congress government’s decision to proceed with filling government jobs without implementing Scheduled Caste (SC) classification. Krishna Madiga raised concerns over the recruitment of 11,000 teacher posts, calling for a halt until the SC classification is resolved.

In response to the ongoing issue, Krishna Madiga gave a call for rallies across district headquarters. However, when he attempted to lead a rally from the MRPS building in Parsigutta to the Ambedkar statue at Tank Bund in Hyderabad on Wednedday, police intervened and blocked his march. This led to a heated confrontation between MRPS leaders and the police. Despite the obstruction, MRPS leaders declared their intention to continue the rally.

Speaking to the media, Krishna Madiga expressed his anger over the issuance of appointment letters at the LB Stadium without addressing the SC classification issue. He criticised the Revanth Reddy government for ignoring the Supreme Court’s verdict on the matter and moving ahead with recruitment processes. He accused the government of conspiring with other SC groups to betray the Madigas, stating that no government job appointments should take place until the classification issue is resolved.

Despite police resistance, Madiga affirmed that the rallies and protests would continue until justice is served for the Madiga community.
