WARANGAL: Minister Konda Surekha has found herself in the midst of a fresh controversy after confronting the police in Geesukonda, Warangal district, regarding the arrest of her supporters.

The incident occurred following clashes between supporters of Surekha and MLA Revuri Prakash Reddy in Dharmaram village on Sunday. The dispute began when Revuri’s faction objected to their leader’s photo being excluded from a Dussehra festival banner set up by Surekha’s group. This led to the destruction of the banner and subsequent physical altercations.

Following complaints, Geesukonda police arrested three of Konda Surekha’s supporters. In response, Surekha personally went to the police station and reportedly expressed her displeasure. She was seen sitting in the sub-inspector's chair and questioning the officers about the arrests, which escalated the situation further. Her followers also gathered in large numbers outside the station, causing tension in the area.

Warangal Police Commissioner Amber Kishore Jha rushed to the station to manage the situation. During the confrontation, Surekha expressed anger towards the police and demanded that the DSP, Circle Inspector, and Sub-Inspector involved in the arrests be relieved from their duties. The protest on the Warangal-Narsampet road was eventually called off after the police assured the supporters that the issue would be addressed.
