Modi to lay foundation for development of 21 Amrit Bharat Stations in Telangana on August 6

HYDERABAD: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lay foundation for the development of 21 railway stations in Telangana under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme on August 6, 2023. The scheme envisages ease of passenger movement, convenience, and integration of the stations with the surrounding area including the look and feel of various passenger amenities.

While the Railways recognised 39 stations in Telangana, 21 stations were shortlisted for immediate development at a cost of Rs 894 crore. These 21 stations will be completely refurbished with huge waiting halls, restrooms, lifts, escalators, free wifi, one station one product shops to promote local products, information kiosks, executive lounges, gardens, and conference halls.

The proposed works include linkages with the areas located on either side of the stations. The stations will be made differently able friendly with sustainable and environment-friendly construction with roof plazas, and concrete walkways leaving enough space for future consumption.

Already the Railways undertook development of the Secunderabad station at a cost of Rs 715 crore and Rs 221 crore was allocated for the development of Cherlapally terminal.

Kamareddy -Rs 39.9 Crore

Mahabubnagar-Rs 39.9 crore

Mahabubabad-39.7 crore

Malakpet (Hyderabad)- Rs 36.4 crore

Malkajgiri (Medchal)- Rs 27.6 crore

Uppuguda (Hyderabad)- Rs 26.8 crore

Hafeezpet (Hyderabad)- Rs 26.6 crore

Hitech City (Hyderabad)- Rs 26.6 crore

Karimnagar -Rs 26.6 crore

Ramagundam- Rs 26.5 crore

Khammam-Rs 25.4 crore

Madhira (Khammam)-25.4 crore

Janagaon- 24.5 crore

Yadadri- 24.5 crore

Khajipet Junction- 24.5 crore

Tandur (Vikarabad)- 24.4 crore

Bhadrachalam Road - 24.4 crore
