Munugode celebrates Diwali by burning Fluorosis effigy

HYDERABAD: Ahead of the Munugode by-election, the Telangana Rashtra Samithi has taken up an innovative program on the festival day of Diwali to bring awareness among people on the steps taken by Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao to eradicate the Fluorosis problem in Nalgonda. This has gained momentum in the ensuing by-election.
As part of it, the TRS leaders performed a program of burning the effigy of 'Fluorosis' signifying the day of Narakasura Chaturdashi (Diwali).
People from Marriguda mandal participated in it and the importance of eradicating fluorosis was explained to one and all. The objective was to educate people of different mandala in Munugode constituency in Nalgonda district on the initiatives of the TRS party in general and Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao in particular to eradicate the Fluorosis in the district.
KCR, who had led the Telangana movement for 14 years, and a separate statehood carved out, has also strived to eradicate the Fluorosis in Nalgonda with the flagship program of Mission Bhagiratha. The Telangana Government spent Rs. 50,000 crore for the scheme to supply safe potable drinking water to lakhs of households in the State.
They also recalled the expert report on the eradication of Fluorosis, which stated that the issue was resolved and claimed that people in the last five years were not affected by this problem.
Telangana Government Whip Balka Suman, TRS leaders Karnati Vidyasagar ,Chairman of Disability Welfare Department Vasudeva Reddy, Putta Vishnuvardhan Reddy, Govardhan Reddy, Yadaiah, Network of the disabled leader M Srinivasulu, Fluorosis activists Amshala Swami, Thirupathamma, Kanchukatla Subhash and others participated in the event.
