NALGONDA: Heavy inflows continue at the Nagarjuna Sagar Project in Telangana, prompting authorities to lift 22 gates to release water downstream. The dam is currently receiving 300,995 cusecs of inflow, with an equal amount being discharged.

Of the total outflow, 255,296 cusecs are being released through the crest gates, 7,601 cusecs through the left canal, 7,878 cusecs through the right canal, 28,420 cusecs through power generation, and 1,800 cusecs to the AMR project.

The dam's water level is 585.30 feet, compared to the full reservoir level of 590 feet. The current water storage is 298.30 TMC, compared to the full capacity of 312.50 TMC.

The heavy discharge from Nagarjuna Sagar is gradually filling the downstream Pulichintala project in Suryapet district. The water level at Pulichintala has reached 142.71 feet against a full reservoir level of 175 feet. The project currently holds 10.65 TMC of water out of its total capacity of 45.77 TMC. Inflows at Pulichintala are at 74,443 cusecs, with 25,676 cusecs being released downstream.
