HYDERABAD: The authorities have demolished portions of senior actor Nagarjuna's N Convention Centre in Madhapur, following allegations of encroachment on a local lake.

The Hyderabad Disaster Relief and Asset Protection Agency (HYDRAA) began demolishing the N-Convention Centre in Madhapur on Saturday.

The N Convention Centre, which spans across 10 acres, was found to have encroached upon 1.12 acres of lake land and an additional 2 acres within the FTL and buffer zone areas. The Tummidikunta lake's FTL area reportedly covers a total of 29.24 acres.

Acting on the complaints, officials conducted a thorough investigation and initiated the demolition process on Saturday morning under heavy security.

The move has sent shockwaves across the city, especially in the film and real estate communities, as the convention center is a prominent establishment owned by the well-known actor. The convention centre, featuring three function halls, was a popular venue for high-profile events.
