HYDERABAD: Playing the BC card to the core Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that if voted to power in Telangana the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) would make a person from the backward castes a Chief Minister.

Addressing the BC Atma Gaurava Sabha at LB Stadium in Hyderabad on Tuesday, the Prime Minister called upon the people to bring a double engine Government to fulfill the long-cherished dream of ‘Neellu Nidhulu Niyayamakalu’.

Recalling his public address at the LB stadium ten years ago, he said that the meeting paved the way for an OBC candidate like him to become the Prime Minister of India. “Let the journey for the first BC Chief Minister start from here,” he said.

“Telangana is craving change, I could sense that. Telangana wants the BJP. Particularly, people from weaker sections such as BCs, Dalits, SCs, and STs made up their minds to bring down the anti-development and anti-poor, Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) Government,” the PM said.

Urging people to make the change by casting their votes for the BJP on November 30, Narendra Modi said that only the people had the power to do so. “BCs made sacrifices for the statehood of Telangana, But the BRS forgot their sacrifices and cheated them,” he said.

Drawing similarities between the BRS and the Congress Modi said that both work for the favour of their creed. “The BRS is Congress party’s B team and Congress is the BRS party’s C team,” he said adding that both don’t have the B factor (BCs) in their agenda.

With the BRS or the Congress in power, they would never let a BC become Chief Minister, Modi said. “It is the BJP that made an OBC like me a PM, Abdul Kalam a president, Ramnath Kovid president, GMC Balayogi first Dalit speaker, Ramnath Kovid a Dalit president and Droupadi Murmu first ST President,” he said.

Warning the political parties that resorted to corruption in the Delhi Liquor Scam, the Prime Minister said that none would be spared, and the investigation would be taken to its logical conclusion. “To escape the heat they even blamed the investigation agencies, but there will be no stopping of the investigation. Those who looted people will face consequences,” he said adding that the BRS was adopting the same corruption model implemented by the Congress.

The aim was to rob the wealth of the people and these political outfits were not worried about the children of the people. “That is why they failed to create a single job in nine years. The BRS cheated youth. The TSPSC failed to conduct foolproof examinations. What happened to the unemployment dole, why there are still single-teacher schools in Telangana,” he asked the people.

Asking people to drive away the BRS from the State, Narendra Modi said that the BJP-led NDA Government at the Centre drafted and implemented schemes that would uplift the OBCs and the other weaker sections. "An arrogant party like the BRS must be defeated," he said.

One More time Modi, Pawan Kalyan

Declaring his support to BJP in Telangana in making a BC as a Chief Minister, Janasena president Pawan Kalyan said that he extended support to BJP so that a strong leader and visionary like Narendra Modi would become Prime Minister one more time.

“I am in favour of a social Telangana, where the fruits of Neellu Nidhulu Niyamakalu should reach the poorest of the poor. And I believe that elections must come once in five years, not five-year-long elections,” he pointed out.

He praised Narendra Modi for abrogating Article 370 and said that Modi did things that were good for the country and not for elections. “From Gokul Chat to Mumbai attacks, many innocent people died. I used to dream that a strong leader should emerge to save the country and Narendra Modi came as a saviour,” he said.
