HYDERABAD: Choreographer Jani Master's National Award for Best Choreography has been revoked following his arrest in a sexual harassment case. The award, which he received for his work in the film Tiruchitrambalam, was cancelled by the committee after a POCSO case was filed against him.

Jani Master, also a leader in the Jana Sena Party, was arrested on September 19 after a female assistant choreographer filed harassment charges against him. He is currently in judicial custody at Chanchalguda Jail. Despite being granted interim bail by the Rangareddy District Court to attend the National Film Award function in Delhi on October 8, the revocation of his award has created uncertainty regarding the bail status.

The court's next decision on the matter is awaited, as Jani Master's eligibility for interim bail now comes into question following the award cancellation.
