HYDERABAD: The Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) is expected to announce its new President by Friday.

In an informal discussion with the media, Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy confirmed that his term as PCC president had ended. He stated, "Whomever is appointed as president, I will work with him or her. I do not have any special preference regarding the appointment. My responsibility is to work with whomever the superior appoints. I am happy that the Congress party came to power in the state during my tenure."

The announcement of the new PCC chief is anticipated tonight. A meeting with the chief leaders is scheduled for 8 pm. Reports suggest that the All India Congress Committee (AICC) has already prepared a list of candidates. AICC General Secretary KC Venugopal has directed key leaders to be available. Consequently, Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, who was visiting Kothagudem, rushed to Delhi.

Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, who was supposed to return to Hyderabad later in the afternoon, also stayed in Delhi. With Revanth's tenure as PCC chief ending today, many have intensified their efforts to secure the position. PCC Working President Bomma Mahesh Kumar Goud and former MP Madhu Yashki, both in Delhi, appealed to Sonia Gandhi for an opportunity to meet separately in the Parliament Hall.

As Revanth belongs to the Reddy community and Bhatti Vikramarka to the SC community, there is an appeal to allocate the PCC chief post to a member of the BC community. Party sources indicate that one of two candidates will be selected if the post is assigned to a BC. Former MLA Sampath Kumar might be considered if the Madiga community is given a chance.

If the position is reserved for the Reddy community, it is speculated that Jagga Reddy, a former MLA from Sangareddy, might be chosen. Party sources expect the PCC chief's appointment to be clarified within a few hours. The expansion of the state cabinet will also be discussed during the meeting.

Several hopefuls for ministerial posts have settled in Delhi, making their case for one of the six available ministerial positions.
