BHADRADRI KOTHAGUDEM: Former Khammam MP and Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leader Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, in a gathering at Sakamma temple in Thoggudem village, said that he did not have any godfathers in politics. If at all, people of Khammam district were his godfathers.

He claimed that he did not ask for gunmen and would not mind if his two current gunmen were taken away.

He said that he would contest from Khammam as he received immense love and respect from not only the people of Khammam, but the entire State. However, there were speculations as to which party he would be contesting from. "I was not born with a silver spoon, nor do I have a godfather in politics. Whatever I have achieved is because of my love and passion to do something for the people, and the people know it by now," he said.

He also said that he was a contractor for long and he had joined the BRS (previously Telangana Rashtra Samithi) and that he would continue to serve the people with their support regardless the party he was in. With the Telangana Government recently reducing his security, rumours spread that ex-YSRCP member and current BRS member Ponguleti Srinivas would be joining the Bharatiya Janata Party and contest from Khammam.

The meeting of “workers and admirers” of Ponguleti conspicuously avoided the pictures of BRS president KCR and Minister KTR.
