This Government is not concerned about the welfare of the farmers. The seven-month-old Congress rule has brought back the miserable conditions of the farmers, Harish Rao said.

HYDERABAD: With another farmer in Alia Thanda of Khammam district, Karepalli Mandal, trying to commit suicide by consuming pesticide in his field, former minister and senior BRS leader Harish Rao said that the Government was not paying any heed to the farmers' suicides.

“Death by suicides of farmers have become common in the state. In Khammam district, a farmer attempted suicide, one died by hanging in the CM's home district as he was not able to find a solution to his problem,” Harish Rao said taking to X on Thursday.

Sadly, the Government was not trying to prevent farmers' suicides and attempting to solve their problems, he observed. “This government is not concerned about the welfare of the farmers. The seven-month-old Congress rule has brought back the miserable conditions of the farmers,” he pointed out.

“We, on behalf of the BRS, demand that the Government should respond even now and resolve the problems of the farmers immediately,” he said.
