MEDAK: Exuding confidence in winning all the ten assembly seats in Medak district in the coming elections, State Finance and Health Minister T Harish Rao said that the opposition parties in the state are licking wounds following the decisive political stroke given by the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) supremo and Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR).

“Chief Minister will be giving a clarion call for the total victory of the BRS from Medak on Wednesday, the first public meeting after the announcement of names of 115 candidates for the elections,” Harish Rao said addressing media on Tuesday.

He said that the party cadre was fully geared up for the ensuing elections, while the opposition parties were in deep shock as they never expected that KCR would declare candidates three months ahead of the ensuing elections. The Minister said that youth and students were totally behind the BRS party as they know that their future would be secure under KCR’s rule.

“Look at the plight of opposition. While the Congress has no able leader, the BJP lacks a cadre. The BJP at the Centre has been copying Telangana Government’s flagship programmes,” he said adding that the PM Vishwakarma programme was nothing but a poor copy of Telangana. He called upon people to elect BRS again for the uninterrupted implementation of welfare programmes.

The Finance Minister said that only Telangana out of the 16 States that had large numbers of beedi workers had a pension scheme in vogue for the beedi workers. “On Wednesday the Chief Minister will announce a pension scheme even for the ‘Thekedars’, a crucial link in the beedi industry, from Medak,” Harish Rao said. The Chief Minister would also hand over increased pension of Rs 4,016 to differently-abled persons, he said.

Harish Rao took stock of all the preparations made for the public meeting of the Chief Minister. The Chief Minister would inaugurate the Integrated District Offices Complex, District Police headquarters and BRS party office in Medak before addressing the public meeting.
