Pained to see man who brandished pistol on Telangana agitators as CM, says Harish Rao

HYDERABAD: Remembering the supreme sacrifice of 19-year-old Siripuram Yadaiah who sacrificed his life for the sake of separate Telangana, former Minister T Harish Rao said that K Chandrashekhar Rao too went to the verge of death for the sake of the statehood.
Addressing a constituency-level cadre meeting in Shadnagar on Tuesday, said that Telangana became a reality through the sacrifices of people like Yadaiah.” In contrast, the person who never offered a flower for the martyrs and who never raised a slogan for Telangana become a Chief Minister of the State,” Harish rued.
He said that he was hurt to realise that the State was under the rule of a person who pointed his gun at the separate Telangana activists. He also recalled that the Shadnagar played a crucial role during the agitation. “We lost the recent elections with a slender margin of 7,000 votes. People believed the false promises made by the Congress. Win or lose we have to be with the people and run after the Congress till they fulfill all the promises they made,” Harish said.
Comparing the defeat in the recent elections to a speed breaker, he said that BRS would gain momentum once again. He said that the Revanth Reddy Government handed over the management of common projects to KRMB and only after the BRS reminded them in Nalgonda they sought a resolution in the Assembly.
Harish Rao pointed out that the Government so far fulfilled two out of the 13 components of the six guarantees. “There are 1.5 crore women in the State who crossed 18 years, there was no allocation for the payment of Rs 2,500 per month in the interim budget,” he said. He said that Congress cheated the voters in Himachal Pradesh and Karnataka in a similar way.
He recalled that the BRS Government distributed Rytu Bandhu even during the pandemic. He pointed out that the Congress Government also failed to declare a bonus of Rs 500 per quintal of paddy as promised. He called upon the cadre to teach the Congress a befitting lesson in the ensuing elections.
Urging party activists to work hard to get the BRS candidate as Mahbubnagar MP, Harish Rao said that the BRS Government released irrigation to 6.36 lakh acres where TDP and Congress together could not provide irrigation to 27,300 acres under Kalwakurthy, Bima, Nettempadu and Koilsagar. He said that works under the Palamuru Rangareddy Lift Irrigation Scheme were almost complete and wished Congress to complete the canal network to release water. “Both the national parties failed to secure national status to PRLIS. There is no chance of Congress coming to power at the Centre. So elect BRS candidates in the Lok Sabha elections,” Harish said.
