NARAYANPET: Augmentation of irrigation facilities to Narayanpet, Kodangal and Makthal constituencies will bring two lakh acres to cultivation changing the agrarian landscape of Narayanpet Assembly constituency, Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) Chief and Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) said addressing Praja Ashirvada Sabha at Narayanpet on Monday.

Accusing Congress of foisting 196 cases on the Palamuru Rangareddy Lift Irrigation Scheme (PRLIS) meant for irrigating vast tracts of barren land in south Telangana, the Chief Minister said that the BRS Government after winning the elections would complete Jayamma Cheruvu and take up Kanukurthy lift near the borders of Karnataka within one year to make the uplands of the Narayanpet constituency lush green with ample water.

KCR said that the revival of agriculture would change the fortunes of Narayanpet, which was once the second Municipality in the State after Hyderabad. “I traveled across the constituency during the Telangana agitation. I saw people migrating to Mumbai in search of livelihood, I saw the land barren. This is the result of electing Congress that was instrumental in merging Telangana with Andhra region,” KCR said. He urged the people not to vote for the Congress as it would push Telangana into darkness all over again

Enlisting the schemes that were launched during the past ten years by the BRS Government, KCR said that he would further enlarge and enhance the welfare schemes to benefit more and more people.
