Patnam Mahender Reddy sworn in as cabinet minister
Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan administered the oath of office and secrecy at the Raj Bhavan in the presence of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao
HYDERABAD: Bharat Rashtra Samithi MLC, Patnam Mahender Reddy was inducted into the State cabinet on Thursday. Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan administered the oath of office and secrecy at the Raj Bhavan in the presence of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao. Several cabinet ministers and MLAs attended the brief ceremony.
Patnam Mahender Reddy filled the position vacated by Etela Rajender two years ago. Mahender Reddy, who had served as Transport Minister earlier, hails from the erstwhile Ranga Reddy district. Mahender Reddy was denied the Tandur assembly seat and the party opted for incumbent Pilot Rohith Reddy in his place.
The induction of Mahender Reddy was seen as a move by the BRS chief to iron out dissatisfaction among cadres after the announcement of the first list of candidates for the ensuing elections.
