HYDERABAD: Telangana Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan announced on Thursday the appointment of Professor M. Kodandaram and Siasat Editor Mir Amir Ali Khan as Members of the Legislative Council (MLCs) under the Governor's quota.

Governor Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan approved nominations on Thursday, January 25, filling two of the five vacant MLC seats in the Telangana Legislative Council.

Amer Ali Khan, the Joint Editor of the Urdu daily Siasat, stands as a seasoned journalist based in Hyderabad. Born on October 18, 1973, in Hyderabad, Ali Khan's journey in journalism spans over two decades. He has contributed significantly to the field of journalism.

Amer Ali Khan studied Communication & Journalism at Osmania University and later did a Master's in Business Administration at Sultan-ul-Uloom College of Business Administration. He played a key role in expanding Siasat Daily's reach in Karnataka.

Muddasani Kodandaram Reddy, born on 5th September 1955, is a political activist, retired Professor of Political Science from Osmania University in Hyderabad, and a politician. Widely known as Prof. Kodandaram, he gained prominence as the Chairman of the Telangana Joint Action Committee (T-JAC), advocating for the creation of a separate Telangana state. He founded the Telangana Jana Samithi (TJS) political part in March 2018.
