HYDERABAD: Telangana Chief Secretary A Santhi Kumari has directed the officials concerned to provide free access and encourage the general public to visit parks in the state.
She suggested asked the officials to conduct Haritha Dinotsavam across the state on Monday, as part of the Telangana Decennial Celebrations. The Chief Secretary participated in a teleconference with the officials on Saturday to review the arrangements for the programmes to be organised on the occasion. June 19, 2023, has been earmarked to celebrate the achievements in providing drinking water to every household in the state.
Speaking on the occasion, Santhi Kumari said that more awareness should be created among the public on the cultivation of plants, besides carrying out the plantation programmes further. She congratulated the district collectors and other officials for the good response from the public towards various programmes being organised as part of Telangana Decennial Celebrations.
Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (PCC) RM Dobriyal said that all arrangements had been made to celebrate the Haritha Dinotsavam on a grand scale. Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB) managing director Dana Kishore said that programes had been organised in 25 Assembly constituencies of Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation with a nodal officer appointed for each constituency on the occasion of the drinking water festival.
Mission Bhagiratha Engineering-in-Chief Krupakar Reddy explained that many programmes had been arranged and around 1,000 people would be taken to the filter beds in the state. Similarly, a programme is being organised for occupational health, safety and rehabilitation (Phases) in all the gram panchayats in consultation with the district collectors.
On the occasion of Education Day, rallies will be held advocating the importance of enrolling children in government schools, said education department secretary V Karuna. Programmes. These programmes will shed light on the progress of government schools, its achievements during the last nine years, distribution of textbooks, notebooks, uniforms, tablets and inauguration of digital classrooms, he added.
Endowments Secretary V Anil Kumar said that the department would conduct special pujas, chandi homam, recitation of vedas and free distribution of prasadam in temples. Similar programmes will also be held in churches and mosques as well on the occasion of spiritual day, he said.
