Public can now watch Telangana High Court proceedings live

In consonance with the Supreme Court’s direction asking all High Courts in the country to allow live streaming of court proceedings, the Telangana High Court inaugurated the facility in 29 courtrooms on Monday

HYDERABAD: In consonance with the Supreme Court’s direction asking all High Courts in the country to allow live streaming of court proceedings, the Telangana High Court inaugurated the facility in 29 courtrooms on Monday. Chief Justice Alok Aradhe launched the live streaming of proceedings.

“The live streaming from all courtrooms will bring judiciary closer to people," Justice Alok Aradhe said at the inaugural. He informed that soon a hybrid mode of hearing would be launched. Earlier live streaming was available only from courtroom number one.

To watch court proceedings, one should open the high court website and click on the courtroom of choice to watch the proceeding in live mode. While the Telangana High Court consisted of 42 courtrooms only 30 are working.

While the Apex Court’s directions advising live streaming came in 2018, Gujarat was the first to implement it in 2020, followed by Karnataka, Odisha, Madhya Pradesh, West Bengal and Chhattisgarh.
