'Quid pro quo' to 'corporate deposits', all for just one by-poll
There's no such thing as a free lunch. And, the BJP is firmly believing in this rule
HYDERABAD: There's no such thing as a free lunch. And, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is firmly believing in this rule. Just a few days after BJP's candidate for Munugode by-election Komatireddy Rajgopal Reddy openly admitted to entering into a quid pro quo arrangement with the BJP just for crossing over from the Congress, another startling revelation of fund transfer into his company's account came to light.
The balance sheets of Visaka Industries, which is run by another BJP leader and former MP G Vivekanand, has revealed yet another favor made to Rajagopal Reddy.
According to Visaka Industries' consolidated financial statements, the company has provided inter-corporate deposit (read as election funding) of Rs. 25 cr to Sushee Infra and Mining Limited. The company is related to Rajgopal Reddy who joined the BJP in August 2022. This surely is not a coincidence. In 2021, that is before the Huzurabad by-poll, the same Visaka Industries has provided inter-corporate deposit (again read as election funding) of Rs. 10 cr to Jamuna Hatcheries, which is related to BJP MLA Etala Rajender. Rajender has joined the party in June 2021.
It has become a habit for the so-called 'party with principles' to buy leaders by awarding contracts and to indirectly pump money into the companies owned by their businessmen politicians. This, the BJP means 'business'.
