Reception officers vital for police-public relationship: DGP Anjani Kumar

HYDERABAD: Telangana Director General of Police Anjani Kumar said that Reception Officers at police stations play a vital role in enhancing the police-public relationship, as the complainants who come to stations first interact with the reception officers.

DGP Anjani Kumar held a video conference with the 736 reception officers across the State on Wednesday.

Anjani Kumar announced that there would be 17 functional verticals in each police station, the most important one being the Reception Officer vertical.

He said, "These functional verticals would enhance the relationship with people and would improve policing services."

Courtesy, patience and understanding were the most important qualities for a reception officer and everyone who came to the police station with any grievance should be handled with warmth, he said.
