Residents secure court stay against Musi beautification project demolitions

HYDERABAD: The Congress government’s Musi beautification project has sparked significant controversy, with residents fearing large-scale demolitions of homes.

Reports indicate that several houses have already been marked for demolition, with authorities asking some residents to vacate their properties. The plan has raised concerns among homeowners who have invested heavily in their properties. Many of them have issued warnings to the government, urging it to avoid targeting their homes.

Despite these objections, the government led by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has continued pushing the project forward. As a result, affected residents have approached the High Court for relief.

Residents living in Musi riverbank areas, including Chaitanyapuri, Phanigiri Colony, Satyanagar, and Kothapet, have successfully obtained stay orders from the High Court, preventing the demolition of their homes. Court stay notices can now be seen at many of the properties in these localities. It is reported that nearly 100 homeowners have secured legal protection to halt the demolition process.
