Revanth Reddy coward, afraid of accepting challenge to contest from Malkajgiri: KTR
Reiterating his challenge to Revanth Reddy to quit his Chief Minister’s post and face him in Malkajgiri, KTR said that there was enough time for the Chief Minister to accept the challenge.
HYDERABAD: “BRS is so strong in India’s largest Parliamentary Constituency that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy is afraid of accepting my challenge to contest from Malkajgiri,” said BRS working president KT Rama Rao addressing the Malkajgiri Lok Sabha Constituency cadre meeting here at Telangana Bhavan on Wednesday.
Reiterating his challenge to Revanth Reddy to quit his Chief Minister’s post and face him in Malkajgiri, KTR said that there was enough time for the Chief Minister to accept the challenge. “The nominations are slated for 18 April. I will convince Ragidi Lakshma Reddy to withdraw and I will contest from Malkajgiri,” he said. KTR said that Revanth Reddy had no guts to take the challenge.
Ridiculing the Chief Minister for wishing for a goldmine in the State Secretariat, KTR said that only burglars roam during the night for treasure troves. “While the CM is after treasure troves, the people are searching for drinking water. People are ashamed of electing a person like Revanth Reddy as their CM,” he said.
Explaining to the cadre that a vote to the Congress would only strengthen the BJP, the BRS working president said that while Rahul opposed Narendra Modi, Revanth adored him as a ‘big brother’. While Rahul Gandhi criticised the arrest of Delhi CM Kejriwal, Telangana CM had no concern about BRS MLC K Kavitha who was also illegally arrested and incarcerated just like Kejriwal, KTR observed.
“Revanth wants to transform Telangana into Gujarat, by following the Gujarat model. Does he mean the Godhra type of development? Will there be bulldozers to attack minorities?” KTR wanted to know.
KTR also said that after the Lok Sabha elections, Revanth along with 30-40 MLAs would defect to the BJP. He said that Revanth Reddy had no other party to go to as he already joined and quit the TDP and BRS. “He might return to his home, the BJP after the elections,” he said.
Pointing out that the Chief Minister who was unable to govern the State turned into a leakage master by relying on fake news on phone tapping. “He says lakhs of phones were tapped. Yes, police might have tapped the phones of unscrupulous elements it is their duty,” he said.
KTR also commented on Etela Rajender's candidacy in Malkajgiri. He pointed out that after facing rejection in Gajwel in Huzurabad, Etela Rajender is now contesting in Malkajgiri. KTR urged Rajender to clarify the development initiatives undertaken by the BJP or Modi in the last decade before seeking votes.
He also criticised the BJP for prioritising corporate loan waivers over farmers' loans, demanding Rajender's response to this issue of farm loan waivers before expressing sympathy for state farmers. KTR also criticised the Congress government in the state for failing to fulfill electoral promises, including the 2 lakh farm loan waiver.
Calling upon the party cadre in Malkajgiri to compare 10 years of BRS with 100 days of lies by Revanth Reddy and 10 years of poison spread by the BJP, he urged them to meet the 30 lakh strong voters in the Constituency. “Everyone should feel that it is KCR contesting from Malkajgiri, not Ragidi Lakhma Reddy, KTR said.
