HYDERABAD: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has issued a series of directives to officials to enhance preparedness for the upcoming monsoon season.

In a visit to the Command Control Centre, accompanied by Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka and several key ministers, Revanth Reddy emphasised the need for robust emergency response measures and comprehensive disaster management.

Revanth Reddy instructed officials to treat the Outer Ring Road as a critical disaster management unit and ensure all CCTV cameras within this area are connected to the Command Control Centre. This integration aims to enhance monitoring and rapid response capabilities.

Joined by Ministers Uttam Kumar Reddy, Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, Duddilla Sridhar Babu and Ponnam Prabhakar, Chief Secretary Shanti Kumari and DGP Ravi Gupta, the Chief Minister reviewed the steps taken to establish a coordinated system among various departments. Officials briefed the delegation on identifying 141 flood-prone areas and the special measures to prevent flooding, including installing water harvesters to facilitate smooth water flow and avoid road water accumulation.

Emphasising traffic management, Revanth Reddy directed the authorities to implement physical policing to avoid traffic congestion and arrange traffic alerts for Hyderabad residents via FM radio. He also called for recruiting additional home guards to ensure sufficient personnel can manage traffic issues during the rainy season.
