Revanth Reddy directs officials to formulate crop loan waiver procedures, insists it’s implemented before August 15
CM directed officials to prepare a comprehensive plan, collect complete data from bankers, and identify eligible farmers.
HYDERABAD: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy conducted a review meeting with the Agriculture and Cooperation Department officials on Monday, focusing on implementing the crop loan waiver. He emphasised the need to formulate clear procedures to ensure the loan waiver is carried out effectively.
During the meeting, the Chief Minister reiterated his election promise to waive off farmers' loans up to Rs 2 lakhs. He directed officials to prepare a comprehensive plan, collect complete data from bankers, and identify eligible farmers. He stressed the importance of gathering details not only from banks but also from Primary Agricultural Cooperative Societies (PACS) to avoid any discrepancies.
Revanth Reddy advised officials to take necessary precautions to prevent any issues regarding the cut-off date and to estimate the total cost required for waiving the loans. He instructed that the procedures and the plan should be finalised promptly to ensure crop loans are waived off by August 15.
Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, Minister Tummala Nageshwar Rao, Adviser to the Chief Minister Vem Narender Reddy, Chief Secretary to the Government Santhi Kumari, and other concerned department officials participated in the review meeting.
