Revanth Reddy not staying in Pragathi Bhavan, MCR HRD may be his new camp office
The CM might not use Jyotirao Phule Praja Bhavan as his official residence as he lives near Peddamma Temple, which is close to the MCR HRD Institute located on Road Number 26.
HYDERABAD: The Dr. MCR HRD Institute in Jubilee Hills in Hyderabad could be the next camp office of the Chief Minister of Telangana.
Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy visited the campus on Sunday and is said to have decided to shift the CM’s camp office there. He would then convert the Pragathi Bhavan, now christened as Jyotirao Phule Praja Bhavan as a place to hold Praja Darbar, where he receives grievances from the general public.
The CM might not use Jyotirao Phule Praja Bhavan as his official residence as he lives near Peddamma Temple, which is close to the MCR HRD Institute located on Road Number 26.
Ironically, YS Rajasekhara Reddy converted the Minister’s Bungalows in Begumpet as the Chief Minister’s residence. After the sad demise of YSR, K Rosaiah used it as his camp office while living in Ameerpet Dharam Karan Road.
After K Chandrashekar Rao took over as Chief Minister of Telangana, the Telangana Government acquired more land adjacent to the camp office where YSR lived and built the sprawling Pragathi Bhavan. KCR lived in Pragathi Bhavan and conducted most of the official work from that building.
Revanth Reddy, however, demolished the barricades erected at the entry of the Pragathi Bhavan, renamed it, and started holding his daily Praja Darbar there, opening the doors for the public.
The 33-acre MCR HRD Institute, located on a hillock, has four different conference halls that could accommodate 150 people each, with a boardroom and a huge auditorium. The institute could also accommodate guests in four different blocks named Manjeera, Krishna, Godavari, and Tungabhadra. Located atop a hillock with separate entry and exit points, the Chief Minister is said to have zeroed in on the Institute. However, the official decision for the conversion of the HRD institute into CM’s camp office has yet to be declared.
