HYDERABAD: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) Chief Revanth Reddy on Saturday issued a warning to Congress party workers that severe action would be taken against those who would hold protests at Gandhi Bhavan. He mentioned that if anyone sat on the steps of Gandhi Bhavan, they would be suspended from the party and directed to the PCC Disciplinary Committee President, Chinna Reddy.

However, he said that the leaders and cadre should bring objections regarding appointments to the attention of the party elders and to not resort to protests at Gandhi Bhavan.

The latest warnings by Revanth Reddy have come in the wake of some leaders holding protests within the premises of Gandhi Bhavan for the past few days, alleging injustice meted out to them in the appointment of District Congress Committees (DCCs) and mandal committees.

The leaders claimed that certain appointments made in seven out of eight mandals in the Aleru constituency were influenced by Congress in-charge Ailaiah and Bhuvanagiri MP Komatireddy Venkat Reddy.

Meanwhile, the PCC is currently gathering information on those who participated in the sit-in protests at Gandhi Bhavan and issued a suspension order on Shankar Naik, the former president of mandal committee.
