Road washed away: traffic halts between Warangal, Mulugu

Vehicles were stuck on both sides of the main road leading to a huge traffic congestion.

HYDERABAD: The second spell of torrential rains witnessed by the Telangana state since Friday, is causing more havoc than the recent one, which was seen earlier in July.The traffic on the Hanamkonda to Bhupalapatnam highway was closed as the road between Pasara and Tadwai was wrecked by the rains.Vehicles were stuck on both sides of the main road leading to a huge traffic congestion.

The lorry drivers, who move goods during the night, were stuck on the highway. They spent the night with no mobile network and were unable to share their location details.

The National Highway between Hanamkonda and Mulugu was also damaged due to canals, rivers and ponds overflowing, disrupting daily routines of the people.

In another incident at Mulugu, villagers of Muttaram in Venkatapuram were trapped in a flash flood. However, the villagers were rescued by the vigilance of a tractor driver.
