Rythu Bandhu deposits begin, 3.64 lakh new beneficiaries added

The distribution of Rythu Bandhu funds for the fan armers as investment for monsoon season began on Wednesday. A total of 68,94,486 farmers will receive investment assistance of Rs. 5,000 an acre in a phased manner.

HYDERABAD: The distribution of Rythu Bandhu funds for the fan armers as investment for monsoon season began on Wednesday. A total of 68,94,486 farmers will receive investment assistance of Rs. 5,000 an acre in a phased manner. The government will spend Rs 7,654.43 crores for 1.53 crore acres in the state under Rythu Bandhu including newly added 1.50 lakh acres.

It is learned that compared to the Yasangi season, 3.64 lakh more farmers will get Rythu Bandhu this time. The Department of Agriculture has already submitted to the Department of Finance a list of bills per acre and money was deposited in the bank accounts of farmers who have less than an acre on the first day. A total of Rs 586.65 crore is estimated to have been deposited on Tuesday.

Until last Yasangi, the government had deposited Rs. 50,448 crore in farmers' accounts under the Rythu Bandhu. With the Rs 7,654.43 crore to be deposited this season, the total farmer assistance would reach Rs 58,102 crore.

Agriculture Minister Niranjan Reddy said that despite all the financial difficulties created by the central government, Chief Minister KCR had sanctioned Rythu Bandhu funds for the farmers. He said it was a testament to the love that CM KCR has for farmers. He said that the farmers were happy with the news and opined that he is praying to God that the farmers would be happy with a bountiful harvest this season.
