Rythu Bandhu: Telangana disburses Rs 429.69 cr to 1.87 lakh farmers on Jan 8

HYDERABAD: The 10th season of distribution of Rythu Bandhu funds to the farmers is continuing across Telangana. The K Chandrashekar Rao government, which started disbursing Rs 5,000 per acre to farmers through bank transfers for the Yasangi season over the last 10 days in a phased manner, on Sunday deposited Rs 426.69 crores to 1,87,837 farmers covering 8.53 lakh acres.

The government, which sanctioned Rs 7,676 crores for the Rythu Bandhu scheme for the season, has so far deposited a total of Rs 4,754.64 crores in the accounts of 56.58 lakh farmers.

Agriculture Minister Singireddy Niranjan Reddy, in a press release, said that the distribution of the 10th installment of Rythu Bandhu funds would be completed successfully. Reiterating that KCR aimed to make agriculture easy and profitable for farmers, the minister recalled that the Telangana government had implemented the Rythu Bandhu scheme even during the crippling times of COVID-19 pandemic.
