Sajjanar launches TSRTC’s AM 2 PM Express Parcel Service

HYDERABAD: Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) Managing Director VC Sajjanar on Friday launched the ‘AM 2 PM Express Parcel Service’ at Bus Bhavan in Hyderabad to provide enhanced services to the customers.

Speaking to the media on the occasion, Sajjanar claimed that the corporation had focused on income-generating alternatives other than the income coming from passengers' transportation. One such service was the marketing of bottled pure water besides management of petrol stations and logistics along with cargo services.

Stating that the Express Parcel Services were made available in 99 locations of Telangana including Hyderabad, Sajjanar said that a parcel booked through the 'AM 2 PM' Express Parcel Service before noon would reach the destination by 9 pm on the same day. The parcels booked between 12 noon and 9 pm will reach the destination before noon the next day. The service will be available at a stipulated cost of Rs 99.

However, he said that parcels weighing less than one kg and the items costing below Rs 5,000 were only eligible for delivery through AM2PM services. Sajjanar further briefed that the TSRTC has delivered 37.21 lakh parcels till December of this financial year amassing an income of Rs.68 crore and said that their target is to reach Rs.100 crore income through cargo for the current financial year.
