KHAMMAM: The Khammam district Congress party head office and former Union Minister Renuka Choudhary remained mute witnesses to the no-holds-barred fight between two groups at a meeting on Wednesday.

Two groups led by Manavata Roy and Matta Dayanand in a show of strength threw plastic chairs at each other and created terror in the meeting hall. While the invitees ran out for their dear life, the former Union Minister who was witness to a similar fight on Tuesday, left the hall in a huff.

Matta Dayanand who recently received a notice from the district collector cancelling his SC status joined the Congress after brief halts in the BRS and the YSRCP. He was hoping for nomination for the Sattupalli Assembly seat. Manavata Roy on the other hand was also hoping for nomination for the same constituency. Manavata Roy began his career as a student leader at NSUI, Khammam.

On Tuesday, a fight erupted in the preparatory meeting of the ‘Vijayabheri sabha’ to be held in Hyderabad on September 17 as part of the three-day CWC meeting in which senior Congress leader V Hanumanth Rao was to address.
