Senior IPS officer Ravi Gupta appointed as new DGP of Telangana

HYDERABAD: The Telangana State government appointed Ravi Gupta as the state's Director-General of Police on Sunday.

Ravi Gupta, a 1990 batch IPS officer, took over as Director-General of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) in December 2022 and also held the additional duty of Director General (Vigilance and Enforcement).

Ravi Gupta was appointed shortly after the Election Commission of India (ECI) directed Telangana's Chief Secretary to initiate disciplinary action against DGP Anjani Kumar.
