SI injured in villagers' attack after suspicious death in Motkur

YADADRI: A police sub-inspector was seriously injured in an attack by a family and villagers in Bujilapuram of Mothkur municipality in Yadadri district after the death of a person, under suspicious circumstances, sparked a dispute.

According to the information available, the Bujilapuram villagers held a sit-in protest at Dharmapuram seeking justice over the death of a person which occurred under suspicious circumstances.

The villagers and family members, after carrying out protests, tried to perform the last rites of the deceased at his house.

However, the police prevented them from doing so, which led to tension after the villagers attacked the police by pelting stones. Mothkur Sub-Inspector Janaki Ramreddy was seriously injured while other policemen sustained minor injuries in the attack.
