HYDERABAD: Ahead of the by-election for Munugode Assembly seat, contenders are facing strange responses from the people.
An independent candidate , who is a doctor, went on a horse to file his nomination papers, drawing the attention of all. This incident went viral on social media and caught attention. Meanwhile, leaders of major parties initiated door-to-door campaigns.
Leaders of the Congress and the BJP who were campaigning were taken aback, seeing a board outside a house that read "Don't come to our house. We are taken care of by 'Aasara pension'. So, we will vote for KCR." On being questioned, residents of the house asserted that they would vote for TRS.
Palvai Sravanti, the Congress candidate, asked the people to vote for her. "Think of me as your daughter and vote for me," she appealed.
On the other hand, MLA Seethakka campaigned in Munugode using drums, on behalf of the Congress party.
The Congress, the TRS and the CPI representatives condemned the BJP election campaign in Munugode, stating that BJP had not fulfilled its promises earlier. BJP's Munugode candidate, Rajgopal Reddy had to retract, as his campaign was obstructed and slogans were raised against him. Another MLA Raghunandan Rao was also questioned by the people of Dubbaka, as there were no developments as promised by the BJP before the elections.
