DELHI: The Supreme Court has rejected the plea to postpone the Group-1 mains examinations and denied any interim orders on the matter.

The three-judge bench ruled against intervening in the candidates' petition, stating that the Telangana High Court had already provided clear directives regarding the conduct of the exams.

The Supreme Court also directed the High Court to complete the case proceedings by November 20 while emphasising that, with candidates already reaching exam centres, delaying the exams at this stage would not be appropriate.

With this ruling, the Group-1 mains exams began today at 2 PM. Section 144 has been imposed at the exam centres, and the police have put in place strict security measures. Only candidates with valid hall tickets and identification cards are allowed inside after thorough checks. Authorities have restricted items to pens, pencils, and erasers, ensuring a controlled exam environment.
