Tandur MLA Pilot Rohit Reddy feels the heat of students' protest in Vikarabad

VIKARABAD: TRS MLA from Tandur Pilot Rohit Reddy was on Monday at the receiving end of a student protest in Vikarabad. A large number of students belonging to the Anantha Padmanabha College in Vikarabad boycotted classes and began staging a protest on the road outside their college.

The students were resenting the college management's inaction with regard to pending scholarships and fees reimbursement. The protest caused disruption to road traffic on the stretch.

Just as the protest was going on, the Tandur MLA arrived at the college as he was passing through the same road. Realising Rohit Reddy's presence, the students fully seized the opportunity to highlight their concerns and accosted the MLA's vehicle. Raising slogans, they demanded the legislator's immediate intervention to resolve their problems.

Rohit Reddy came out of his vehicle and tried to pacify the agitating students while lending a patient ear to their concerns. With the MLA promising to look into the matter and find a solution soon, the students relented. They have been upset with their college management's inaction in giving away scholarships and implementing the fees reimbursement, which, they say, have been long-pending.
