WARANGAL: Dereliction of duties can cause loss not only to the work ecosystem, but even to many other stakeholders. Sometimes, it causes terrible embarrassment to those who are indulging in ignoring their responsibilities.

Whether one may adhere to the maxim of "work is worship" or not, at least work-to-rule has to be followed to stay away from the displeasure of bosses.

However, District Educational Officer (DEO) of Bhupalapalli district was continuously caught neglecting his duties by the Collector and District Magistrate.

Srinivas Reddy, who is the District Education Officer-in-Charge, has been regularly found absent in his office, according to reports. Though Newstap could not verify this fact independently, reports suggest that the Tahsildar of Bhupalapalli was asked by the Collector to visit the DEO's office. If the latter was not found at work, the Collector asked the Tahsildar to lock the room where the DEO sits. Accordingly, the Tahsildar locked the chamber and handed over the key to the District Collector. as The Collector was annoyed by the frequent absence of the DEO and said to have warned the latter many a time.

Efforts to reach the Collector or the DEO, however, proved futile.
