Telangana Congress gears up to host big show in Hyderabad

HYDERABAD: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president Revanth Reddy has appealed to intellectuals, Telangana movement activists, students and unemployed to welcome party leader Sonia Gandhi irrespective of their political leanings.

Spaking to the media after inspecting the Vijayabheri Sabha arrangements in Tukkuguda along with AICC general secretaries KC Venugopal and Jairam Ramesh, Revanth said, "Sonia Gandhi will announce six guarantees in the Vijayabheri Sabha. She kept her promise which she made during the Karimnagar meeting back then to give Telangana. In the same manner, the six guarantees will be fulfilled within 30 days of coming to power."

AICC general secretary KC Venugopal said that the CWC meeting would start at 2 pm on Saturday. 90 people including Congress chief ministers of four states would attend this meeting. "There will be an extended working committee meeting at 10.30 am. on Sunday and a public meeting at Vijayabheri at 5 pm, in which Sonia Gandhi will release six guarantees," he said.

Jairam Ramesh expressed hope that Congress would form the Government in Telangana in a similar way to the Government was formed in Karnataka after the Bharat Jodo Yatra.

Meanwhile, former BRS Minister Thummala Nageswara Rao is expected to join the Congress in the presence of Sonia Gandhi on September 17.
