Telangana Government to sign Rs 2,000 crore MoU with TATA for training one lakh ITI students

HYDERABAD: Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has said that youth in Telangana should be equipped with modern technology to compete with the world. The Chief Minister held a meeting with the representatives of TATA Technologies Ltd on Saturday and discussed provision of modern technology and training the youth to create more employment opportunities.

Revanth advised the introduction of modern courses in all Government ITI colleges. He added that the State Government was committed to provide employment opportunities to the youth in Telangana. He suggested the TATA representatives to introduce new courses which would help generate instant employment opportunities and also promote entrepreneurship among the youth by setting up their own industries.

"Outdated courses waste valuable time of the youth and should be replaced with modern courses," the Chief minister said.

Revanth Reddy welcomed the decision of Tata Technologies to provide job oriented industrial skill development training at a cost of Rs 1,500 crore to Rs 2,000 crore.

The TATA Company would provide required machinery, equipment and software for the establishment of 4.0 skilling centers along with maintenance in the State. Revanth Reddy appreciated TATA for coming forward to provide compatible training to nearly one lakh students who would undergo training and get jobs in various industries in the State.

Chief Secretary Santhi Kumar has been asked to constitute a committee with top officials to enter into an MoU with the company.

Revanth Reddy agreed with the TATA company’s readiness to provide training in 4.0 industry based training courses like industrial automation, robotics manufacturing, advanced CNC machine technicians, EV mechanic, basic designer, virtual verifier etc to the youth in the Government ITI institutions.

The TATA company would provide two master trainers in each ITI along with required machines and software to offer 4.0 industry oriented courses. The company would extend training and support in the Government owned ITIs for five years. As part of this, TATA would offer 22 new short-term and five long-term courses to polytechnic and engineering students aiming to provide employment in the high demanding manufacturing sector with modern technical workshops.

The State Labour and Employment department would hold consultations with Tata company to finalise the modalities to enter into an MoU. The officials informed that 50 6government ITIs have already been identified .
