“The Kaleshwaram project is irrigating 45 lakh acres. Apart from that, it is also being used for industrial purposes. The project can sustain Telangana, regardless of growth in population, till 2050,” he said.

The Minister said that the KCR-led Government was focused on strengthening the agriculture sector so that the youths of this generation take up agriculture and not be keen on leaving their roots behind.

Delivering a keynote speech on ‘Technology for Impact and Scale’ at the Development Dialogue KTR said, “Unfortunately, politics takes front seat and economy is left behind. Telangana, however, is already working on the development dialogue. This is the only State with surplus electricity production and supply to all sectors. IT exports grew from 57,000 Cr to 1.83 Lakh Cr. Agriculture contribution to GSDP increased by six percent. The sector grew by 120 percent. Built the world's largest lift irrigation project in just 4 years. Providing potable drinking water and laying fibre optic cables to every household.”

The Minister said that Telangana was the best example of how technology can create impact and scale. “The pandemic has shown us what wonders technology can do and Telangana always strives to give equal opportunities in technology to everyone and create a change,” KTR said.
