Telangana govt declares two days holidays to all educational institutions due to heavy rains
The State Government's announcement of two days of holiday is an immense relief for both parents and students
HYDERABAD: Telangana State Government has declared two days of holidays in all the educational institutions in view of heavy rains across the state.
Telangana Education Minister Sabithaindra Reddy took to Twitter on Thursday morning and tweeted, "Keeping in view of the heavy rainfall in the state and under the instructions of the Telangana Chief Minister KCR, the Govt has decided to declare holidays for two days to all education institutions in the state. That is Thursday and Friday."
The State Government's announcement of two days of holiday is an immense relief for both parents and students, who had been demanding holidays due to Telangana's ongoing severe rains. However, some students were taken already by their parents for dropping them at the schools, by the time the announcement came.
Those who reached the schools were told that the government declared holiday due to rains. While some netizens criticised the government for making the announcement in the morning instead of last night, usually decision on holidays would be made assessing the situation the same day.
