Telangana Govt relaxes upper age limit for direct recruitment posts by two years from 44 to 46

HYDERABAD: In good news for those waiting to secure a Government job, the Telangana Government has decided to raise the upper age limit by two years for the ensuing direct recruitment in public services.

Earlier the Government issued orders on raising the maximum age limit prescribed in the Telangana State and Subordinate Service Rules, 1996 for appointment by direct recruitment by "Ten years" le, from 34 years to 44 years, for two years, to the various categories of posts to be notified for direct recruitment.

Several representations were received from unemployed youth, for considering relaxation of the upper age limit for direct recruitment to enable more unemployed youth to become eligible for recruitment to the various categories of posts

The Secretary, of Telangana State Public Service Commission, Hyderabad requested the Government to raise the maximum age limit for posts other than the uniform services, such as Police, Excise, Fire, Prisons, and Forest Department further by two years in addition to 10 years already raised by the Government in 2022.

After careful examination of the matter, the Government decided to raise the maximum age limit from 44 years to 46 years for other than uniform services, for two years.
