Telangana govt terminates services of 11 directors in TSSPDCL, TSNPDCL

HYDERABAD: The Energy Department of the Telangana government issued an order (G.O.Rt.No.05) on January 29, 2024, announcing the termination of services of 11 Directors of the Transmission Corporation of Telangana Limited (TSSPDCL) and Northern Power Distribution Company of Telangana Limited (TSNPDCL).

In its previous orders (G.O's 1st and 2nd), the government detailed the appointment process for Directors of the Boards of various organizations under the Energy Department.

Directors were initially appointed for a two-year term, with the possibility of extension up to a maximum of four years.However, a review of appointments revealed that seven Directors in TSSPDCL and four TSNPDCL were appointed without adhering to the prescribed processes.

The government has decided to reevaluate the appointment process for directors, despite their initial two-year terms being extended until further notice.

The Energy department has terminated directors including J.Srinivas Reddy - Director (Operations), T.Srinivas - Director (Projects), K.Ramulu - Director (Commercial, DPE, Assessment, and Energy Audit) - Service, G.Parvatham - Director (HR&IR), Ch.Madan Mohan Rao - Director (P&MM), S.Swamy Reddy - Director (IPC&RAC), Gampa Gopal - Director (E Audit, DPE & Assessment), B.Venkateshwar Rao Director (HR), P.Mohan Reddy - Director (Projects), P. Sandhya Rani - Director (Commercial), P.Ganapathi - Director (IPC&RAC) - Service.

The Chief Managing Directors (C&MDs) of TSSPDCL and TSNPDCL were instructed to make alternate arrangements for these positions until the appointment of new Directors is completed.
